A couple of summers ago, we had our first taste of Doughnut Plant’s Peanut Butter Glazed Donut from Dean & Deluca in NYC. Best doughnut I’ve ever had! My daughter, who was home for a week back in February had a craving for this unforgettable doughnut. My search for doughnut recipes eventually led me to beignet (ben-YAY), French for fritter. They’re really easy to make and they’re lighter than doughnuts.
