Philippine Trip: Preparations Underway

My HS friend from Newfoundland, Gayzelle, tipped me about Cebu Pacific Air’s FREE fare promo last week. It was a pretty good deal so we immediately booked our flight to Puerto Princesa (from Manila) in July. All we had to pay for were taxes and surcharges which came to CA$ 88/person! The regular fare (including taxes and fees) would’ve cost us $200/person. Great buy, eh?

Another HS friend from Sydney, Eileen, knows of a condo rental along Tomas Morato Ave., near ABS-CBN, at an unbelievable rate of AU$25/day! The unit has 2 bedrooms with AC & 2 bathrooms. A P6000 deposit is required for electricity/H20. (If anyone is interested, email me – katherinenavarro at gmail dot com). We were going to book the condo but Francis’ cousin offered accommodation at their house. So, as of tonight, it’s confirmed that we will be staying with Pinky/Elmer in Pasig (near Ever).

Monday was Victoria Day. We took advantage of the 3-day weekend and drove to Grove City Prime Outlets in Pennsylvania to go shopping for ‘pasalubong’ (presents for family back in the Phil.) early Saturday morning. The 4-hour drive was well worth it! We shopped for 8 hours straight – never done that before. Every inch of my body was sore! But I didn’t care – I was very happy with my purchases :)

We stayed the night then went back for a few more hours of shopping the next morning. :) We left shortly after lunch and made a quick stop in Buffalo on the way home…. for one final purchase. We were back home by 6 p.m. on Sunday.
